No caffeine Pumpkin Cinnamon Goodness

Okay, so occasionally I miss going through the Dutch Bros. drive through. For those of you reading this who do not live in Oregon and are not familiar with Dutch Bros., it’s one of the many drive-through coffee shops on street corners throughout Oregon that fuels Oregonians’s rampant coffee addiction. Really what I sometimes miss are the pumpkin-spice lattes. Oregonians go crazy for pumpkin and cinnamon flavored coffee. But it’s packed with sugar, calories, and toxins. And, of course, there’s the coffee…and, no, it’s not just the caffeine that’s bad for you, but I’ll go into that another time. For now, I had a pumpkin that was dying under the buffet in the kitchen, and it needed to be revived into something life giving before I tossed it to the chickens. So…

2 cups chopped raw pumpkin

3 cups water

1 spotted banana

A touch of raw honey

1 tablespoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon nutmeg

1 scoop Raw vanilla protein powder

Blend on high until creamy, frothy, and warm.

And….yum! Even the kids approve! Enjoy!
